Pay for drop-offs? WHAT?!

WELL NO, NOT QUITE.

Since opening- UP Boxed has offered free printing of shipping labels, free taping, and even free packaging. We have been happy to do more than any other shipping center in the entire country offers, free of charge!

However, after finalizing our books for 2024, we realized just how unsustainable this practice was. Up Boxed assisted in this way with almost 20,000 packages in 2024. Though it seems like a small thing- when you add up over 20,000 packages, it is very expensive. This practice cost UP Boxed over $40,000.00 in expenses.

For us to stay open and continue serving our community, we need to begin charging for the things that cost us money and are not reimbursed by the carriers: Ink, Paper, Tape, Labor all cost us to serve you. So what does this mean? Small changes to the services we offer.

Up Boxed is committed to keeping costs LOW and REASONABLE, so prepared drop-offs, that are ready to go, will remain FREE of CHARGE!!

Returns/Drop Offs that require additional services (Taping, Printing, Assistance, etc) are charged a small print/tape fee of $1.00 (Cash) or $2.00 (Card). Each additional package is only $1.00. You should bring the item in packaging, but if you don't have packaging, you are able to buy it in-store.

This change still means that we remain one of the lowest-priced shipping centers in the United States, with success rates that rival the best shipping centers in the nation, along with breaking even and being successful for years to come!

We appreciate that everyone has been so understanding and amazing about this change. Still, we understand that change is hard, and wanted to take the time to explain it. We love you and thank you for your business, and the ability to serve you!
